Shed 10 on Queens Wharf, Auckland

Key Services

Our team of Structural Engineers enjoyed working on this project for Eke Panuku together with Matthews & Matthews Architects. Built in 1910, Shed 10 is the only original building remaining on Queens Wharf and is a heritage-listed building. For much of its life was used to store cargo on Queens Wharf.

  • Completed a condition assessment report based on a detailed survey of the steel structure including mechanical wire brushing, grinding and measurement of steel structure.
  • Analysed results and calculated demand vs capacity ratios on steel members including further site inspection as required.
  • Prepared specific design for repairs, general corrosion protection specification and specification and methodology in collaboration with contactors and heritage consultant.
  • Submitted an exemption application and prepared a PS1 certificate to record the works in Auckland Council property file records.
  • Monitored and logged construction works and assisted contractor with temporary works design and technical information requests and produced a record of works and PS4 certificate.
