Our team of structural engineers is proud to have been involved on this iconic project with DPA architects

Designed in 1924 by the leading architectural firm Grierson, Aimer & Draffin (architects for the Auckland War Memorial Museum), this brick building was converted into a public library in 1931. Services provided included:

  • Desktop review of the property information and detailed investigation of the as-built condition.

  • Detailed Seismic Assessment calculations (DSA) to determine the seismic rating of the primary structural elements and to identify the critical structural weaknesses.

  • Prepared concept and detailed seismic retrofit designs to increase the seismic rating of the building to 67% NBS.

  • Provided PS1 structural designs for building consent and construction.

  • Construction monitoring inspections and provision of technical support and designing solutions to contractors as required.

  • PS4 producer statement on completion of works.
